Reaching out

Postby Sasquatch on Sat Jun 02, 2007 4:01 am

My wife always buys those trashy celebrity gossip rags when she goes to the supermarket. Every so often they'll put up pictures of barefoot celebrities and launch into a tirade about why these celebs need to keep their shoes on. I decided to send a note to one of them just for the fun of it.
Can somebody please tell me why the Hollywood press has such a problem with celebs going barefoot? It's some sort of institutionalized podophobia. Millions of people around the world live their entire lives without shoes and suffer no ill effects. There is a growing movement here in the US and the rest of the "civilized" world, a group of people who hate shoes and do everything they can to avoid wearing them. I am glad to call myself a member of this group. I want these unshod celebs to know we're behind them all the way.

Barefooters, untie!

As always, I don't expect anything to come of it, but a failed attempt is still an attempt.
